Everything you need to know about each FlowStop, accessories, and modifications.

Compatibility

Make sure each opening is compatible with FlowStop.

Block or Brick wall

Please make sure the openings you are protecting are supported by block or brick walls. Setting a flood barrier on a stud wall will put the entire wall at risk of collapsing.

No Drywall

Even if you have a block wall behind your flood barrier should never be against drywall or sheet rock.

No Crawlspace

Even if you block the opening of the crawl space, it is very likely that the water will be siphoning from the ground and infiltrate your house. Flood barriers will slow down the water but not stop it.

Cracks, outlets, vents

Blocking the openings with Flood barriers is only the first step of a dryproof process. Please make sure you secure walls, outlets, pipes, vents, etc.

Wall surfaces

If your walls are too sleek (such as aluminum or painted wood), we will apply a gripping texture to the wall to provide a better grip.

If your wall is textured and has an inset larger than 1/3 of an inch, we will need to fill it up.

Single-Chamber FlowStop

The single-chamber FlowStop is a barrier that pushes against four walls. It has a gasket on each of the four sides.
Best used for vents, windows, or protection against waves.
Please note that your barrier will not protect against more than 42 inches of floodwater.

The single-chamber pushes against four walls.
Gasket on four sides.
Customized for any height.
Maximum width is 275".
Standard depths are 6" or 8", depending on width (see depth table).
When a 6" FlowStop won't fit, non-standard depths are also available, depending on width (see depth table).
Posts can be installed to increase the depth of the opening.

Depth Table

Double-Chamber Flowstop

The double-chamber Flowstop is a barrier that pushes against 3 walls. It has a gasket on both sides and the bottom.

Best Use for Door, Windows, garage door, Large opening

Please note, your barrier will not protect against over 40" of flood water.

Place the strap 2" away from the valve.

Add 2 straps 12" away from each edge.
